  • recommend a lt1 383 stroker kit

with my car having 125,000 on the clock and climbing, and running nitrous this summer, i know ill be doing internal work at some point. i have a good amount saved for a stroker kit but im not to sure at what i would need. i know i want forged internals to handle nitrous. but other then that im kind of clueless

was cruising summit and eagle seems to make a kit for a decent price. but im open to all suggestions.

now do i want flat top pistons or dished? what size rod length? i need alot of help on this subject.

top end is running a lt4 hot cam kit. so the cam lift with the 1.6 rockers is .525 intake .525 exhaust if that helps you help me

    thanks in advance everyone

Callies crank, Manley rods, and Diamond pistons are a winning combination But I'd go with flat top pistons, unsure of rod length.

the pistons just depent on the commpression ratio you want. also i would recommend heads or head work to accomodate the extra cubes. you dont wanna choke it.

ya going to have my stock heads ported and a bigger intake but as for compression i dont know what i want. nothing crazy just a decent build stay around 10:1 or 11:1

Piece together some good internals and follow these steps.

                Get the compression up
Get a big cam with lots of exhaust duration
Get a stand alone fuel system
                Get a direct port
Hit the car with a 250+ shot
                HOLD ON....

bigger cubes eat up the cam. A mild cam in a 350 will seem smaller than stock in a 383

Well, do we have some competition here

A lot depends on what you really want to do with the car?
Eagle makes a really nice setup with H-beams for 1800 and can handle 600 + HP and has a 4130 crank I believe.
I did a setup like this for Yoeasy69 (Josh James) and he plans on doing a 125-150 shot that will get his car to 600HP easy.

                      Compression:
As far as compression goes if you don't plan on buying heads you are going to need a forged dished piston @ -8 cc's to keep your compression down.

                      Now rods:
H-beam like I said and I would go 5.7 long.
6" will get the wrist pin into the oil ring and that's not the best if you are going to street drive the car and shoot N2o.

If you want pwr get a N2o cam that is made for what you are going to do.
                      Comp makes some nice ones.

                      I would suggest heads though!
Top of the line would be AFR ( See Pace ) but there are others like Trick Flow, Eddelbrock and more.
If you do heads you want a 62-64cc chamber with a 195 head.
If you do heads then a Flat Top piston will get you 10.5 - 10.8 for compression.

                      N2o:
Don't know a lot about it but I can tell you to stay away from a Dry kit and go with a Wet kit or Direct port being the best.
And depending on the style you go with a 42 or bigger injector but that will depend on the size cam you get and HP out put of the motor.

Up grade that fuel pump also!!
Racetronix has a nice 255 in tank system.

                      Gauges:
                      Wideband hands down!!
                      Fuel pressure
These would be the top 2 then I would go for Oil pressure and what ever else you want/need.
