transmission help

I'm having some trouble with my T56. Does anyone know of a good trans shop in the lansing area to do the work. Having trouble shifting into 1st and 3rd. the clutch shutters during engagement to 1st and rev.

If it needs to be rebuilt is there something that might make it stonger/better/quicker while its out. what other transmissions would swap in.

Feel free to offer any suggestions regarding the transmission and options available.

Not sure about over there but Liberty and D&D are the best t56 people out there.

or do it yourself, its quite simple if you have a basic tool set and can make a long set of pullers (cost ~$30 for me to make one)

My work truck died on me yesterday, which gave me a ride in a tow truck. I ask the driver who was the best. He says that Lansing transmission is the best. But the tow company also has a gig with the shop for free towing for repairs made at lansing trans. He was also pretty eager to give me his card for the referal. I'm not counting them out but I'm not holding his opinion very high. So as of now I'm asking people about A&E Transmission, Transmission Technologies and, Lansing Transmission.The first two offer free estimate so I'm going to do that saturday. More then likely any of the three will do a good job.

Be careful of free estimates. They have to take the trans apart to tell u what's wrong. If u say no then they will slap that mofo back in like a monkey.

I rebuilt mine. It's not too bad.
