the cost of a ford 9in rear?

if you were looking to buy a complete but used ford 9inch rear end what would you say was a fair price? my buddy has one sitting in hi garage he is going to sell and he let me know first, but he hasnt set a price yet, what should i offer before he sets his mind on a price?

well naw i was at hockey tonight and my buddy who has a mustang was talking about selling the extra rear end hes had laying around in his garage, lol i was like oo ill take it how much. he said he'll think about it cuz he just sanded it painter it blah blah blah lol

then its deff not all set and ready to go

do you even know hwo wide it is or if its too narrow or wide tho. it may take a lot more work then what u think to get it to fit right

edit- also i don't know if stangs have a torque arm like f-body. im assuming thats what its from if its your buddy with a mustangs spare

If it's a mustang rear it will not work in your car without EXTENSIVE modification.

I'm pretty sure nothing froma stang, rear end or suspension wise, will bolt right up to a 4th gen.

If it is a mustang rear, you will be better off just buying the center section from your friend. You can get the proper housing w/brackets and axle shafts from moser for about the same price for what it would cost to have your friends modified. After your friends housing is modified to fit a Camaro, the quality will be nothing near that of a new housing from Moser.

unless you plan on installing a 4 link in your car dont bother. also unless the 3rd member has a nodular housing or a good locker let it sit. the stock 3rd member is not good for more then 420rwhp

Well hear is a pic of my 9inch moser. i have $1100 in the housing & axel pacage to my door step. I am sure you no that fbodys do not have upper controll arms. thats what the TQ arm is for. ( mock up 3rd member in pic )



I picked up a rebuild 9inch 3rd member for $750 . 3.18 gear detroit 1350 built yoke ,locker 31 spline , and nodular iron case.
