TH400 Trans fluid change! Need help, have question!

Ok does anyone know how much tranny fluid it is to put back in the TH400 (pontiac) after changing fluid and filter? Dont know if the dip stick is not right or did not put enough fluid in. BTW 4 Quarts was put in!

4 to 6 not all fluid drains out.start with 4 and work your way up, wont hurt to run it not drive run it then check the dip stick while car is running and warm.

4-6 quarts is a big difference. Do you happen to know what the manual states for one?

not really, just depends how long it sets and the size of your pan, mine they say 5 then i need to add more to it so just to say this much exact might be wrong.

Its the stock pan on the th400 if that helps any
