Well, I just ordered my alum. driveshaft from a guy. Should be able to handle my 100 shot of nitrous easily now without worrying about snapping my crappy two piece driveshaft. I also will free up some HP from not having to turn the heavy 2 piece. Probably gain about .2 sec in the quarter with it as well which will be nice. That is the usual amount gained from the swap on our cars.

Installed the alum. driveshaft today. Man what a pain to get the top bolt loose above the 2 piece connecting to the torque arm. I finally got it after trying all kinds of different techniques. I found a small rachet and was able to finally get it loose.
The car definetly seems to get up and go a lot faster than before. What a difference in the weights too, the alum one is so light compared to the 2 piece driveshaft.
Definitely worth the upgrade for safety and some more HP getting to the ground.------------------------------------------

i had to cut mine off. i cut the torque arm in half. mainly cuz the torque arm botls were stuck to the rear end i had to cut them too. lol. but yeah i cut the torque arm in half then cut a lil more off the front of it. to get just the driveshaft out i wills ay the new shaft i have is alot lighter then OEM two peice. the steel one i have is lighter then the OEM steel driveshafts i do agree that it is a great mod but depending on the year wether or not u wanna do it urself is the question mine was a bad idea pulling it off. ROFL. and with the front end being up higher then the rear was stupid on mty part everything came out of the trans when i pulled the yolk out but i didnt care trans was blown to begin with.04 dodge ram HemiGtx 001/433

wasjo6431- sounds like you had an interesting time with it, lol. Yea it just took some patience and trying different positions to get that top bolt out. I read about the back end being higher to stops leaks I think on ls1tech.com and it worked great.------------------------------------------

yeah i wasnt to worried about it i got it cleaned up. it tooke me hours just like it did to getthe old control arms off the rear the botls froze in the bushings and i had to cut them off the car. what an exciting time that was.
BUT ITS GOIGN TO BE ON THE FRIGGIN ROUND IN NO MORE THEN 2 WEEKS> *** YEAH BITXXS AND HXXS IM GOING TO HAVE THIS THING SCREAMING DOWN THE STREET IN NO TIME AT ALL> only a year later and 14 thousand dollars. BUT IT WILL BE ON THE ROAD. ive already got a new plate for it. and plan on getting a personalized plate for next year on it "GOTCARB" its insured, and ready to get out on the road. just gotta get an alignment, windows fixed at the same time. they are prolly gunna have to replace the feed fuel line after the fuel filter to remove the fuel filter so that means its gunna be at BoB SeLLers For a few days. then its off to get the exhaust put on. and wam bam thank you man im on the road.
this thing runs so smooth through the rpms. right now the timing is advanced 16 degrees will be between 12-20 before we are done to get it ready for the track i will advance it here and there and see how it runs best. gotta change the oil in the morning on it then run it trhough the gears to get the trans fluid all the way trhough the gears. then put it back on the ground again, and get the beast on the trailer. which would be its first time getting driven since november of 2003 (except those times i pushed it into the street and the neighbors driveway accross the street so i could drive it. i drove it in reverse around the block. only gear it had haha. one time i got drive to work i was so excited, then i was like imma toucht he gas i lost it. lol.
