pretty much the best you are going to find anywhere...

http://danddperformance.com/ and they are in wixom, mi

Edit: also i forgot about liberty trans as well

i bought my trans parts from D&D but rebuilt it myself.. its actually quite simple as long as you know the order of assembly which you record when you take it apart. Saves TONS of money

here are some of the pics of my rebuild, actually i only took pics of the disassembly.. http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=15125

six speed inc is out of business. d&d and liberty are both local. Liberty did the machine work on mine and I assembled it

A little closer (than Wixom) is Mike Ridings with Ridings Transmissions. He does awesome work and doesn't have the overhead that a lot of the other shops have.

I consider myself to be pretty good mechanicly, so maybe I will tackle it myself. Total time it took to rebuild and reinstall was what? 8 hrs? I'm guessing because it doesn't shift smoothly and never has I also have bent forks. Does this sound right?

you may or may not need a puller to get 5/6 off the shaft.
this is what they look like apart

it was organized but I knew every single piece had to come apart so I put everything in a pile cause I needed to clean the bench to build an engine. with the mods half of the parts do not go back in

Um.... ya, thats allot of parts. I'd have a puller collecting dust in my garage after that. I'm going to have to export the job.

Not a real hard trans to build.

The shop manual is online. If you take your time and lay out all the parts, you'll be ok. Paul at liberty can supply the parts necessary. The parts list: steel 3-4 fork, brass fork pads for 1-2, 3-4 synchro's (5-6 optional), and billet keys. The other stuff is standard stuff like carbon friction rings, bearings, etc.

Use a little propane on the two torx headed bolts that retaing the forks/rails. They have loctite on them and they are brittle.

You can always call me for advice or help anytime 586-255-3426.
