  • hey can anyone help me i dont have the tools for this

    hello
as most of you know i bought a 1974 dodge truck not to long ago but long story short it needs a new transmission. now i can get the transmission but i dont have the tools to put it in and it is to heavy to lift up into the truck by myself so is there anyone that can help me. if you dont live to far away i may be able to get the truck to your house if we can do it in one day so that i can drive the truck back home the same day. now the truck will go forward but wont go in reverse so i can drive it but i dont know how far it will go if the transmission isint any good. please can anyone help i need this truck and asap.
    thank you
    Dustin

Damn man... that seems like it was the worst possible decision to buy that truck! Sorry to hear about the problems you're having with it.

well it's not that bad i figured it being a 1974 that it would have some problems but not the transmission. idk it's kinda been my luck the last few years. lol

I would love to help you if you were just a little closer. It would be much easier to do in my garage then guess which tools I need and have to drive back wasting time.

I have a buddy that lives near (or I think close to) Springport. He works there at least. He lives in Eaton Rapids. I'm sure he'd be willing to help out. Probably have to wait until after Christmas though.

Well let me know when you get the trans. After Christmas would actually work better for me as long as it's not after the 30th because my girlfriend will be in town and she would kill me if I was working on a car while she was here. (She live in Atlanta so we don't get to see each other much) As for how much, it is a pretty straight forward thing so I probably wouldn't charge you anything really.

well i am waiting for an email back form the guy with the transmission but i got offered a $1000 for the truck and if the guy gets me the money or anybody else gets me that amount i will be selling it so i will let you know in the next day or two what is going on. i believe that it only needs the clutches in the transmission adjusted wich is one bolt insided the pan but i am not possitive.

thank you for all of the offers but do to hard times and being super busy i wont be able to get that transmission so i wont be able to take it anywhere to switch it out. if i am able to find another one i will let you all know but as of right now i wont have one to switch out.
                        thank you all
