Hey Hectre13, I'm new to this site, and have been a driveline expert for 33 years. I respect you want to know and hate the helpless feeling myself. The problem for you is knowlege. There are specific books you can buy that will have all the recommended tools to do the job PROPERLY. Another thing to think about is this sounds like gears that have been "seated together", used. The final tolerance is .008"-.011" backlash, stock. I like my new perf gears @ .006". You may have noise for 2 reasons, minimum. First, you must get the gears set pretty much exactly as they were in the other diff, and second, 3.73s are notorious for noise, especially Richmond Gears-no offence. New bearings are a must. Timken would be a good choice, National Seals, another. A pinion depth tool an absolute must for a beginner. A press, dial with a magnet, a hot plate would help, large torque wrench, gear marking compound, etc, mineral spirits-to clean everything spotless, especially the housing. Get the installation guide. The alternative, which is my advice as you won't have a large investment in tools for something you may only do once or twice in your life, is pay to have it done the right way. It's not crawling to anyone. Some things you should delegate to save a alot of stress and alot of money in tools and damaged parts if done wrong. There will be a warranty with a good shop. Don't trust anyone who hasn't got much experience. Good Luck.Last edited by 382ssz28; March 1st, 2009, 05:09 PM.02 SS Conv-382-4L75E-Vig4000-DTS Dana 60 4.10-BMR Extreme-Kooks 1 7/8X3 ORY-Mufflex 4"-NX Gemini 2-NANO-FAST 92-NW90-Comp Cams-ETP Stage 2-Strange-SLP-HPT MPVI PRO
