Not quite the same, but I'm converting my early (1970) LT1 over to solid roller this winter. I had a pretty large flat tappet hydraulic in it , and it kept collapsing the lifters. The big advantage is it allows you to run a more radical cam profile. As well, it's a lot less friction.

Ya i only put maybe 3-4 thousand on the car a year and only get about 2 seasons out of a set of hydraulic lifters.
The ease of setting lash & the options for lifters and rockers is the reason I would like to convert. Solid roller lifters are tanks compared to a hydraulic and you can run a much harder cam core.
I am thinking Crower lifters w/ Scorpion rockers & a custom ground cam.
Do you know what others are running in their set-ups?sigpic93' Z28 w/ Built LT-1, Hays Clutch, 373 Gears, 315 Nitto NT01, No Rain, 55000 Original Miles... Ya it gets treated better than my girl!

LOL, Yea my hydraulics are shot. Last time at the track they were clattering like hell, and I couldn't even get them to adjust right. I geuss .530 lift and a good set of valve springs were too much for them. Still squeezed out a 12.5sec with it running like crap.
I just picked up a set of Crower Pro-Series solid roller lifters. I already have a good set of Crane Gold series roller rockers. But I still havn't totally made up my mind on the cam yet. I really like the Lunati 60131 though.
