Hmmm... do you guys think it'd be easier to just rebuild the v6 rear end, then, with v8-capable parts?- Brian Meissen

Sheesh that's not cheap. $50 is cheap... anything over $200 is expensive imo for a used stock part.- Brian Meissen

$50 for axle is not cheap when a real axle costs 2K+
Myself and others have sold V8-origin 10 bolts on here for $150. Thats much easier and cheaper than rebuilding one.
IMO deal with the one-wheel-peeler until you find one for cheap. Your car will not explode if you have a V8 without a posi for a while - it was done all the time in the 70s.
This should be the least of your concerns right now. Focus on the engine, thats not as easy to change in the future.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; October 28th, 2008, 09:53 AM.-Joel

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Focus on the engine and trans, worry about rear end sometime before spring when I have more $$$ and can afford to buy a v8 complete rear end.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View Post$50 for axle is not cheap when a real axle costs 2K+

but you have to remember brian if you are going to try and build one up it is going to cost much more then 250-400 bucks to make it stronger....
hell when i bought the stuff for my rear end im pretty sure it was close to 600 bucks and thats just parts. its much easier to spend the 250-400 on a complete rear axle then try and build one up
