  • Clutch!

ok, so i counted the splines and measure the input shaft diameter, and the diameter of the clutch disk..

after everything is said and done with the new parts going into the car, cash for a new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel... is just not there..

well with my swap came a clutch with not so much meat on it. and while i wait till Christmas to swap the motor out, i am gonna use the old clutch till then.. when i do the swap i am planning on just getting a replacement disk for the time being till late summer when i can afford a proper setup for it..

490-40-221- would this hays clutch do me for the time being?

    i measured 26 spline, 1 1/8 diameter and 11 inch disk..

anyone ever used hays? seems to be on the cheap side.. but the price seems to be right for a few months..

I'm not sure how much the hays clutch cost but I only paid $400 for my LS7 clutch and it came with the flywheel.

LS7 clutch will not work for his application. The T-56 for the LS1 and LT1 car are different because the LT1 uses a pull style. Unfortunatly the LT1 style clutches are usually more expensive.

That hays clutch looks like a stock replacement to me. I honestly don't know if that will hold the power that you are going to put out or not.

well.. like i said, it will only have to hold till late springish.. till i get money for a proper kit..

that hays goes for like 102, and looks like it is the stock replacment, but is designated for street/strip use

i will prolly pick it up just for now, cause that will be much better then what i have now..

been looking at the spec 4's.
