Auto will be easier on the rear end.

      Still, get a 9".

Freshen up the rear, buy some axles and a cover, probably get a new posi unit while yur back there... weld the tubes to the "pig".. uhm that should stay together for awhile. Theres plenty of cars running 11s with the 10 bolt. Just know that its a "band aid" and not really something you'll want to stick with for too long if you plan on going faster.

9 inch or 12 bolt... 12 bolt is pretty damn strong and its a little cheaper than the heavier 9 inch rearend.

the auto will definitely help preserve it. if you keep your 60 foots to 1.7s/1.8s it should last a while. 1.6s they start coming apart after a few passes.

You've only had it to the track once though.

The car is #9 among the fastest bolton LS1 cars in the country, and the fastest in the Midwest with a best pass of 11.42 @ 116.24, with a 1.47 60ft at a 3100 raceweight. Since then, I have added the Nitro Dave's Halo dry kit, tightened up the converter, and dropped down to a 3025 raceweight. In +2074 DA at Route 66 Raceway, the car went 10.63 @ 124.73 with a 1.39 60ft. This was done on a small 95rwhp dry shot, with stock internals and a stock GM 10 bolt rear end!!!

people say im stupid for having a 4000 stall in the car.... but it doesnt bother me driving on the street and works wonders at the track i was happy with 11.94 with the car shifting at 5900 rpms but we switched it to 6300 rpms and will have to see what it will do in the spring with new heads n coil overs
