    well usually the easiect way to determine if you have a posi is to jack the rear of the car up and spin the tires. if they both spin the same direction you have posi, if they go opposite you have anopen rear. Also look in your RPO codes for G80 as that is the posi RPO. swapping rear ends is definitely easier than doing a gear/carrier swap.

      Does anybody have a lead on a walkthrough install for a 3.42 rear axle install! Woot! I'm finally moving up in the world guys!!! Yes!!!! What all will I need, since I'll be leaving the drum brakes behind for disc ones and such?

        It's a straight swap. No details. Unbolt and bolt in.

          what he said. only complication you should have to deal with is recalibrating the speedo.

            ya just bolt it in... and dont forget to loosen the little bleeder bolts and bleed the brake lines... no rear brakes can be intresting... right around 45 is when it hits you that its not fun though...

              Yeah that would be my luck too. I would have to just keep going. Gang Way here I come!!!!


              Anybody have access to one of those computers used to adjust the PCM and speedo and such on a V6 3800 II??? Let me know where I should go or who I should contact.
