  • Transmission Prob?

It seems when I get on the throttle to 3k its doesnt pull as much as it should. Im wondering if ive actually lost a gear, it just seems like the trans doesnt wanna keep up with the motor.

    This is an auto right?
When you say get on it I am assuming you floor it right?
How fast are you going when you step on it?

You can try adjusting the T.V cable and see if that helps.

Yeah its an Auto. I adjusted the TV cable a few weeks ago, havent really driven the car that much in the past few years (due to a ridiculous amount of infractions). I think the trans could be getting worn out and slipping.

I don't think you have lost a gear, Usually when that happens you lose 2 gears, The planetary gear sets for our trans are 1-2 and 3-4. If you are missing a gear it would bog down considerably when it shifts.

Iv'e only seen one other blue Iroc around here so I think its a rare color.

Do you know if its the 1-2 shift or the 2-3 shift that is slipping?
It also depends on how fast you are going when you step on it because if you are in 3rd gear and step on it and thats where you experince your problem then its an upshift issue.
Need some details on your problem, way to many possibilities in diagnosing your issue.

I think its when im in second gear and hit it. Just slippage at like 2500+ its just not transfering the power.

its not trying to shift into 1st when you step on is it?

Your 2-4 band may be starting to go. If thats the case then you should think about rebuilding your trans. (good time to look into a shift kit too)

try manually down shifting then back up and see if it grabs - it might be an vacuum issue

Yeah ill try that. I noticed that when about half throttle itll stick at a rpm when picking up speed, for like a second maybe then continue. But its def not picking up like its supposed to.
