Wierd Trans Linkage problem

the car was not engaging into any gears. I checked the linkage. Looked good. I pulled the linkage off the transmission.

By hand I can put the transmission in Park, however, when i move the lever by hand into R, N, D, 3, 2 it is always in neutral.

What is going on?
