Alright well clutch is out and were getting ready to install the transmission, but were trying to rotate the engine a little so that the transmission has a nice smooth entry, but can't find anywhere to lift or jack on in order to get the rotation neede, so i'm wondering if anyone has any tips for easier installation because i don't want to try slidding the transmission in all ****-eyed.

Have someone do it, hahaha. Not the answer your looking for but i HATE tranny work. To avoid having to do it again i installed it on my motor outside of the car and slid them in together. My advice would be to invest in a tranny jack or a trans plate for a regular jack. Will make your process a ton easier. Leave the motor and just jack the tranny up and slide them together.sigpic

superman09, yea i don't like tranny work either, but i wasn't gonna pay someone to do it, when i can, trying to save some green.
Badinfluence, definatley drained it but still had a lake of oil after we got it down off the car. oh well
I have another car jack that i will be using for the tranny, just the stupid tranny tunnel is so low that you can tell that your probally supposed to take the engine and tranny out together. I'm gonna get it in, or die trying, i haven't had my car for 2 days and i already miss it. Well thanks for the help guys, i'll let you know if i find any trickssigpic

well i found the tip to putting in the transmission. Take a bunch of HGH then throw it in. No but i just took my time levled it on the jack and then shimmied it in. Wasn't to bad now just gotta break in the new clutch. Superman09 I wish i could just pay for it too, instead i got a bunch of new cuts and gouges on my hands. But i do like having a better knowledge of the parts on my car.sigpic

a manual z car or t/a will have a lsd and 3.42's just swap a whole rear, for the cost of gears and install into your rear it would prolly end up being the same price of a complete rearOriginally posted by cobalt camaro View Postyea, i kinda wanna buy a lsd now to put in the rear to go with the 3.42 gears.
about doing it yourself and getting cuts on your hands, i've stripped my whole car this winter and put it back in, that was fun
