  • V-8 Bellhousing

I'm looking for a bellhousing out of a 1982 - 1992 V-8 Camaro or Trans Am. I would like to get an original one instead of the high dollar aftermarket one. If anyone has one in which they want to part with let me know. Thanks

I'm betting you could go to a salvage yard and get one pretty cheap.

Also you may want to check if that trans was not used in any other cars / trucks. You would be surprised just how many components are the same between different cars and trucks. You could probably find a Chevy G van (Astro) with a 700R4 or 4l60 pretty easy with the same trans, or even a caprice or buick roadmaster.

Alright thanks. I've been calling around to junkyards in Michigan and no one has any third gen bellhousings but I'll have to do some checking and see if gm put the same bellhousing in a different vehicle. Thanks for all your help.

And I'd bet money that thirdgen.org would have a few as well.

            Was your car an automatic (4l60 / 7004R) or a manual (T56)?

Well at first it had a 700R4 in it and right now it has a th350. I need a trans to hold the power im putting out and my 700R4 wouldnt. I've got this T-5 built up so it will handle the power.

Call a good salvage yard and ask them to check the interchange in the Hollander manual

i tried salvage yards dont ask for a bellhousing for a t-5 bellhousing out of a camaro. you want to ask for a 5 speed bellhousing out of a camaro, i know this because i called about 5 salvage yards asking for a t-5 bellhousing and none had one then i called them all back and asked for a 5 speed bellhousing and they all had them. you are looking for one that sits on a 22 degree angle right.
