  • Help!!!

BLAH i dont know whats wrong with my car it could be a ton of things but im not for sure what it is. Ill try and explane it as i was tryin to to my dad. Today when i was going to the bank i was like hmm ok i gotta pull out pretty fast so i did and my car just cut the power then it picked back up within like a second. Then i would push the gas and it still wouldnt go so when it caught it jerked do to me pushin the gas. Im not sure if my trans is sliping or what but i think im going to be screwed in the end ...... Its got trans fluid and i checked the oil and that was fine both of them were. Could it be caus it needs a tune up or anything like that thats not over a grand to put into it... I dont know what to do its my DD and i need it i dont really wanna be riding my bike in the snow to work. It starts to slip/lose power around 15 to 20 then it would pick up. My foot doesnt even need to be on the gas that much just barely pushing it and it still happens

If your going... And you press the gas kinda hard does it make a puuuuh sorta noise...Like the engine?. Then start to pick up power... Like it sounds like it died or what ever then picks back up? And does it do it at high speeds to... Like if your going 55 and go to pass someone does it do it if you floor it?..

Thats what my problem is and i cant seem to figure out what the hell is going on.

check your throttle position sensor otherwise id be leaning towards trans issue - (2/4 band or sunshell getting ready to go)

              That's really wierd...

Yeah, could be the TPS, but it would generally not just have problems in one specific area.

So, the RPMs don't drop when this occurs?

Im not sure but my dad took it for a drive and when i primed the fuel pump it sounds weird. But my dad said its gotta have something to do with the fuel seeing that it almost stalled out on my dad but i think it might be caus i havent got gas in along time well before new years is the last time i got gas

Pumps go bad...check your fuel pressure. Should be 43psi on prime.

Blah i tryed to start it today and poop the car would wanna start but then i would try and give it gas and it would die out on me. So i think my pump is going bad or something im going to change the fuel filter and i already put some dry gas in there so we will see i hope its not my pump but i know in the back of my head it prob is

Sorry, but sounds kind of like what happened to my '99 Jimmy. I spent like $1500 trying to avoid paying for the fuel pump so I sold it. Turns out it was the fuel pump and could have been replaced for $600. Ehhh. Gross. I hope it works out for you.

Jamie - check your fuel pressure. If it's not 43psi at prime, it's probably the pump.
