  • SLP Rocker Arm Kit?

Alright turbo guys. What do you think about this with a Turbo setup?

I'm not an expert or anything but I looked into doing ALOT with my old 3800

First, if your going turbo/blower it would be best to get a cam designed for that. People told me either do 1.8+ rockers or cam but NOT both. those rockers will not work w/ an aftermarket cam.

I'm not sure if abbott racing is competition against any of the sponsors here or not but I would check out there website.

yea don't do rockers if you are doing cam as well. They will not work out together.

If you stayed with 1.6 ratio then it would be fine, but money can be spent elsewhere for gains. Get a turbo cam instead

intense, zzp, stattama all have great stage4 cams, but as for the best it all depends on your goals, and the heads you are putting on it and all.

            Well,

Here is a good question, what are reasonable goals for the 3.8L turboed fbody? I'm not looking for 1000+ HP or anything. Maybe 500+ Hp tops.

I think some other turbo v6's on the v6 boards are running 12's and 13's

Yeah, I'd be happy with that! So tell me how to get there with a V6.

                  $1000

I'd get another motor, rebuild it, turbo cam, heads if you have money, ported intake, 3.42's & lsd, exhaust, all the other bolt ons, then tune

I priced it out last winter, it was going to cost me ~$4,000 for all the best stuff (stage 3 heads etc)

13s can be done with a stock motor. high 12s with a stall, tune, correct gears (3.23s max for turbos) and slight head/intake work. Getting deeper into 12s and 11s is where major engine work is needed

Really Travis? You suggest 3.23s for Turbos? I would have thought that bigger gears would have been better. If so I am very happy! I have a rear axle waiting for install with Posi, 3.23s and Disc Brakes from a 94 TA

Adam: Thanks for the tip. I emailed the guy. Hopefully it will still be around once I get my tax refund.

yea turbos suck with anything more than 3.23s because you need to spool them up. If you were going supercharger then yea go for 3.42s or 3.73s.
