  • Synchro Rebuild Question

Well, I'm going to need to replace the reverse synchro soon, and while I'm at it the 3/4 would be happy to have a new synchro...so might as well do them all. But anyway, how hard is it to replace the synchros? This includes removing the transmission, taking it apart, everything needed to do the fix. I've never worked on transmissions before, but can say that I'm not a retard mechanically (done a cam swap, valvetrain upgrade, rear end work, etc). I have the rebuild manual to help out, just asking for some personal experiences. Thanks everyone!

you might want to talk to john (phenomic). He just screwed up his trans and is going to be pulling it soon to fix it up too.

If the syncro is screwed the gear most likely will need to be replaced too. Reverse sycro is brass. The reverse gear can be turned over so It probably won't need to be replaced.
if you take is apart install at least the 3-4 billet keys and brass fork pads, and steel 3-4 fork
