I recently bought a Jensen CDX6311 Headunit for the bird bc the old cd player stoped working and i did nto want another junk yard head unit but wanted it to glow red. I need some major help wiring it up. I have the factory wiring which of course dont work so i bought a Scosche wiring adapter that plugs into the factroy plug and branches off to just wires, i need to know do i just connect the loose wires to the head unit or do i have to buy a plug for that unit and wire the 2 peices together or just say **** it and pay someone to hook it up. I also have the dash adapter to fit it to the car, thats all good to go.

just connect the like colored wires together. preferaby with crimp connectors, but twisting tight with electrical tape will work just fine.
The four paired colors are your speaker wires(white, white/black, green, green/black, etc.)
The single blue/white wire is the remote turn on for your amp if you have one.
Blacks(may be multiple) are ground.
Yellow is constant 12+ and Red is switched 12+

best is solder next is twist, high failure is crimp connector (when I did competitions you lost 20 points per crimp on installs) just match with what your manual says each wire is (it should match color wise)Originally posted by scottydosnntkno View Postjust connect the like colored wires together. preferaby with crimp connectors, but twisting tight with electrical tape will work just fine.

I've heard that before too, i just dont get it because ive had the tape fall off and the wires come loose before, but i've yet to lose a crimp connector. I guess if you don't use a proper crimper and crimp caps then it can not be so sturdy, such as just using pliers that crimp it flat, instead of with the indent.Originally posted by archemedes View Postbest is solder next is twist, high failure is crimp connector (when I did competitions you lost 20 points per crimp on installs) just match with what your manual says each wire is (it should match color wise)
Either way, both should work just fine for a dailiy driver, since most people aren't tht good at soldering.

crimp connectors oxidize, no way to get around it, if taped correctly tape wont come off ever, soldering is so easy everyone should be able to do it

Soldering ftw. I love soldering wires together, a good solder joint that isn't a cold joint will last forever.- Brian Meissen

If you get all the stuff you need (wiring harness wise and the wiring diagram so you can tell me which two wires to solder together) and I'll solder it for you. Doesn't take long at all to solder some wires together.- Brian Meissen
