Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

yeah behind the deck or head unit is a plastic piece that will keep the normal size head unit from going in its place. Just use a dremel or similar to remove. I had to. The monsoon deck isnt very deep like normal aftermarket decks so the put a plastic L piece to support the rear of the monsoon deck. Just remove it and youll be fine.

What Angie didn't mention though is that I had to entirely bypass the monsoon amplifier that is installed in the rear cargo deck in front of the spare tire. The monsoon amplifier is a piece of shit entirely. After I bypassed the amplifier the sound was 1000000x better.
if you don't have a dremel, take a hammer and place the wooden end on the piece that needs to come off. then slam your hand into the head of the hammer on the top side which is laying down. just becareful to retract your hand quickly so it does continue to move forward and cut yourself!

run speaker wires direct from the deck/headunit to the speakers. not much, ecspecially with some speakers that are 8 or 9 yrs old.
Actually, I found something even better. Go to the rear sail panel interior piece and find the amp. I'll find my thread that I posted, all you need to do is cut the wire from one side of the monsoon amp and then cut the respective wire on the other side of the amp, solder the two wires together and tada you've bypassed the amp without having to do run new wires.
The monsoon uses special speakers that only work with a very, very particular kind of speakers. If you put aftermarket speakers into your system but have it going through the Monsoon amp, it'll sound like complete shit. Her front speakers had absolutely no bass at all until I bypassed the amplifiers. Her rear seat speakers didn't work at all until bypassing the amp.
