So i have 2 jl audio 12w3 d6's....
They are dual voice coil 6's so a total of 4 6ohm coils.
I have this sony amp:
http://www.epinions.com/Sony_XM_SD61...udio_Amplifier
it is 600rms @ 2ohms and 300rms @ 4 ohms...
It runs one sub very well in parallel @ 3 ohms.
I want to get a dual 12'' box and run both off the amp.
Basically my options are:
1.)run one sub in series and one in parallel I (will this work or will one overpower the other?) I will get a net of 2.4 ohms.
2.) only wire up one coil in each sub in parallal (but will i be losing a lot of power here, and is it safe to run them like this?)
3.) wire 2 coils in parallel (1 in each sub) and 2 coils in series with that (1 in each sub) that wil lget me the net of 2.4 ohms but each sub will have mismatched coils... (will this work? or be bad?)
4.) Run all the coils in parallel resulting in 1.5 ohms and everything is happy. But i may kill the amp... what are your suggestions?
Anyone have any other ideas?
