  • Got a new Amp!!!

Thought I'd throw up a quick thread about what my parent's surprised me with today for Christmas. . . In addition to covering my $700 in tires, they bought me a 1200w Sony Xplod amp, model XM-2002GTR. Here's a pic.

Yeah, an amp is an amp unless your wanting some big sound. It looks really sweet compared to sony's older stuff. Thats cool.

Yeah, I'm not complaining. It hits really hard, especially since my woofers aren't made for loud bass, they're made for good sound and it really adds to the whole audio experience in my car. I like the looks of it, and it fits under my sub enclosure nicely, and the wire inputs are the type that will prevent it from getting fried like my old one. The Rockford had set screws, this one has clamp screws on it to hold the wires in place.

Yeah, this one sounds excellent, I was blasting some Metallica on mine, and it kicks REALLY HARD. . . Of course, it's the most powerful amp I've ever had, I used to have the subs hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate 800w amp.

Thats actually a pretty nice entry level amp. Sony builds good stuff, I should know. If you were aiming for a high level amp you would pay a high level price, but considering your familiy's troubles, I am pretty impressed with what they have been able to do for you. You parents really love you man. After all the stories you'll told me I was really impressed. I can't wait to hear you thump! Merry Christmas Bro!.
