  • 10 inch sub

Does anybody have just one 10 and how does it sound? I have always had two 12's and am a little skeptical about going with one 10 becuase I am trying to get a stealth box so I can stillb have room for the t-topps. Wouls one type r along with a 600 monoblock amp be enough? Also where can I get a stealth box for cheap?

I had a 10 inch Kenwood in my t-top area. It sounded great. I think it even sounded better than when we put my friends 2 12's in the back seat. My 10 was right where the t-tops go so I don't know if the stealth box will sound the same. It should be similiar. Good luck.

it all depends on what music you like, a single 10 in a good custom box can sound great, a prefab box for the most part is marginal.

I've had a 10" MTX in the F-Body thunderform box (driver's side rear-quarter hatch area)for about 5 years now. Pesonally, I think it sounds great, and that's coming from having 3 12s in my old car.

The single 10 adds nice depth and punch to the music that the Monsoon system was missing. It isn't piss-off-the-neighbors-and-set-off-car-alarms loud or anything, but I didn't want that. As the others said, it's all about your taste. I've heard some mean systems that sacrifice some room.

Glad someone asked cause I was wondering the exact same thing. The monsoon setup sounds damn good but nothing like I want. Could anyone suggest a specific sub that sounds amazing in there?

if you think the monsoon sounds good a single 10 will sound great (the monsoon system is rated as the worst sounding stock system)

Yeah, by far Monsoon is the biggest piece of junk ever. First thing I did with Angie's car to upgrade her sound was to bypass the monsoon.

Yeah, I've had a set of 6" eclipse laying around for a couple years and finally found a use for them. Replaced my monsoon door speakers and what a difference. The rest will get the boot this spring.

I have a 10" dual voice coil JL audio in a stealbox powered by a rockford P2002.

its quite literally all i could ever want. I believe it is to do with the shape of the interior and location of the box that makes it sound so good. Inside the car it sounds really good and really loud. enough to blur the mirrors. outside the car you barely hear it, just the way i like

definitely go with a stealthbox, theres no way a monsoon even compares to it. I recommend a dual voice coil sub too. i also have pics of it in my highly outdated cardomain ('95 Z28 link in the sig)

I have heard all the ragging on the Monsoon system. I suppose changing all the stock speakers when I bought the car may have saved me from that opinion. Of course, it is still far from the best.

Surprised you liked your speakers going through the monsoons. When I hooked Angie's aftermarket speakers up through the monsoons, they sounded HORRIBLE. I bypassed them and man they were sweet sounding
