I'm selling a custom box for 2 12's that fits in the t-top storage area, with 2 12" subs included. I'm going to buy the box first, and if the money is there for a JL sub, I'll pick one up. I'm thinking of upgrading to a nicer amp as well, the Sony Xplod that's in there hasn't let me down, but I think there are better options out there. Not to mention, I don't think I need a 1200w amp for a single 10" sub.

No, but if you run two subs, you can just wire them in parallel if it'll handle the impedance, and it'll split the power.

But yeah, if you just want to run one, then yeah, you can get something smaller. I have the w1v2s, and honestly, those things pound, and that (besides the W0 and WX) is the entry level JL. The sound they produce is so clean and crisp, it's almost unbelievable.

sometimes its better to go off technical specs rather than opinions when buying a system...everyone is going to say theirs pounds, the nature of a subwoofer. but the frequency response and power rating tell the true story and can help you decide if the sub is better for sound quality, booming bass...or both

Inifiniti's aren't that bad in price. I bought a 10" from ABC Warehouse a couple years ago for $75 new. If I was to buy a new sub, it would probably be the Alpine Type-R. I say that because I use to have one and loved it, mine was just a 12". I never installed the Infinity and sold it to a friend.
