I'd Try a different cable or you can head to the place where you bought the Ipod and cable and ask them to take a look.

FM Transmitter. . . I'm buying one today, I need it for the amount of time I'm gonna be spending in all of the different cars this weekend. . . Superfest, driving to Shelby Twshp. to pick up parts, etc, etc, etc. Plus, I don't even trust my iPod to work with headphones half the time, let alone with other electronics. lolNick H.

You said it charges the ipod? What happens when it's fully charged? Does the ipod play music, and you just can't hear it? Or does it just show the charging icon when you plug it in. What are the cables like? Is it possible that you have it hooked up wrong? Does the CD changer still work? Alot of questions, but maybe they will get you thinking and lead you in the right direction.

it shows the icon that the ipod is charging. Cables are straightforward and you can't really hook it up wrong. It plugs right into the cd changer port on the back of the headunit. I don't have a cd changer so that doesn't matter. Ipod plays music through headphones but the music doesn't come out the car stereo though when it is plugged in.------------------------------------------

no the ipod works fine, if I put the headphones in while it is hooked to the headunit it plays music to the phones. The headunit just isn't catching a signal------------------------------------------

Maybe the adapter they sold you is bad. Have you called the manufacturer or place you bought it from?

yea I talked to the manufacturer, they are telling me they think the 2000 headunit isn't compatable with it even though all their lists show it works with 99+ headunits. So go figure I guess...talking to people on ls1tech it sounds like it is hit and miss that it works with our cars.------------------------------------------
