Would be much better in the front fender than back, its just plastic up front vs metal in the back, most radio signals pass through our plastic fenders fine, not so much on the metal quarters.

Side note, XM also passes through the front fenders on our cars as well as the plastic rear quarters on vettes, makes for a VERY nice stealth install.

Use a self tapping screw into the wheel well in a not so noticeable area, or use one of the studs provided on the under hood side, could also use any bolt in the engine bay. Take your antenna, undo the magnet mount part and duct tape or velcro it to the inside of the fender, between the black plastic and the metal wheel well.

John do you know where you are going to mount the radio? i.e. under the dash, hidden under seat, in glove-box, trunk?

I'm thinking of just dropping the entire idea and buy a hand-held with dc adapter.
