  • Out with the old, in with the NEW!!!

Alright, my busted and nasty MTX 10"s are gone, and they have been replaced with a new pair of Cerwin Vega 10"s in a custom F-Body enclosure. . . Very nice! I also got rid of my Pioneer 8" Bass Cannon. . . Under the box is my 900w Rockford Fosgate amp. All tied together with my Clarion headunit. Really a cool setup, but I'm gonna need to get a new headunit soon. Here are a few pics, lemme know what you think!

I got them from a friend. . . The enclosure is something you can make on your own if you have the time to do it right. . . I can send you some measurements from mine if you'd like.

nice nick!...i had those same subs, except the 15"s in my S10...i had the two 15's in a vented box, and combine that with a tiny ass extended cab S10...it blurred my vision and would make your ears bleed!!! hahaha....no joke on the blurry vision! looks million times better than the MTX's!

My MTX's did that when I had them in my Blazer. . . Blurred my vision! It was great. The little pioneer bass cannon really kicked ass too! You couldn't see anything in the mirrors, they were rattling so much! It was great!

looks good, Nick! I'd go with those if it weren't for my needed t-top storage.

I know I''m Old Now ....But

what ever happened to the good old crisp kick-ass fidelity from your sound system??? The kind where you get your system set up right, and you swear you can here the lead standing over behind you to the left. The Bassist standing, then moving around all over behind you. The drummer straight out back, with just enough to make you feel the little jiggles in your spine/midsection area. Nothing to way out mind you.

The lead singer moving around as he/she may. The harmony singers each sound as if they're in their respective places on stage.

Good radio, a nice 16, to 20 band graphic equalizer. Some good speakers. Infinity makes automotive speakers don't they??? 6 to 8 speakers is about right I'd think for our third gens. Some gonzo wire to keep down the impedance.

Oh, and my all time fave. Adding an Echo chamber into the mix for those wild, and crazy nights when things get hot and wet!

In my day, Kenwood, Pioneer, Blaupunk(sp?) were tops in the audio field. But then again, cassett tapes where still fairly new on the market.

In any event. I'm not talking Kraco here at all.

subthump makes some nice boxes that fit nicely in the back of F-Bodies... i made my own box, they're not too hard...just takes time and patience

Thats whats so great about the system I have. It is loud, but it is also evenly balanced and very clear. I'm looking into buying a decent EQ soon, so I'll let you all know when I get one and install it.

yeah, i replaced all my stock speakers then amped them before i got my sub. And cerwin vegas are some bad ass home audio speakers, i can't imagine them in a car.
