could be a bad amp or connection... i blew up a newer mtx amp in like 30 seconds after leaving best buy, but your getting a surge thats for sure if its going into protect... and if it isnt blowing fuses then its most likely a ground... for amp size you should have enough for it to move them a bit, but make sure your setup-be it bridge or whatever can even be handled by the amp... if the ground looks good change the speaker setup.

it's wiring, that amp is not going to go to protect because the speakers are too much, that is a myth, a speaker can be run with 1 watt unless it's a total pos, how are teh gains set? you may be overloading the amp with distortion from teh head unit they should rarely be set to max

i dont have it set to max i usually keep the Bass on the radio at -3 umm for the most part it isnt doing it as much as it was but it still does about once a day depending on how much i drive. if anyone wants to buy my 2000 sunfire with or without system i have it for sale in another post.

ok i took the system into a shop and i figured it out not only did the MORON that hooked my shit up bridge the amp when it didnt need to be bridged but my amp is not enought for both speakers i need another 1500 watt amp to push both speakers we disconnected one of the speakers and now it hits great a can rattel house windows. i love it i just have to save up and get another amp.
