does anyone know how to add tags to mp3 files, so they show the name on my cd player?

right click an mp3, edit tags is one of the options

Have to make sure your cd player supports it and then set your cd player to display text.

my cd player has a display button and when i set it to the text part it always says "no name" even after doing what slohand suggested

Are you burning mp3 cd's? If so does your cd player enable cd text burning? Some don't.
