  • Sub Box Dimensions for Camaro's & Firebirds 82-92

I found a really detailed pdf file for those who want to make their own.

    http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/attachments/car-audio/130844d1166812780-dimensions-well-sub-box-model1.pdf

I am building mine tomorrow & I will take pics of my progress.

That's the same PDF I used to build mine. I posted a thread here on this site and on thirdgen.org about my build I have tons of pictures! That PDF is everything you need but you have to custom cut and fit your own top as that PDF is just for the box in the well with no top. Here's some pics...

When building yours take some pictures! Also what subs and amp are you running?

      looks awesome.
I am using a 1000 W Kenwood Amp and 2x12 JL Audio subs

      I will take some photos.
thanks for the tip, so if I use 3/4 like it says in the pdf, then I make the sides 3/4" shorter on the height and it will fit perfect?

I built the bottom of my box exactly to what that PDF shows. The top will fit flush with the hump (if that's how you choose to have it sit) without shortening anything. I have seen some people angle the top to give it a different look. The top is more your preference I did not want any gaps so I cut mine to sit flush and to cover everything...

That's the only way to build a sub box. I had mine done when I 1st bought my car.

Thats pretty cool, but different from the PDF. Can you post some other angled photos, like a front view of it out of the car etc.
              Thanks a million!!!!

I'll see what I can do. My car is in the shop getting painted. So all depends on how far my car is and what stage.

But when I get a chance, I sure will.

It took me 2 days, I know it should have only taken one, but I did all the cutting outside, didnt want all that dust inside the house. And daylight was scarce.
                        Check it out

I tried going to the site listed but it asks for a log on and password. How do I get past this point? I would love to make one of these for my 92 bird. Please PM me with the info, I dont get on the site as much as I used to. Thanks.

LOOKS GREAT! Did you use that PDF? Looks exactly like mine I love the way it turned out. Just food for thought tho did you leave the box open? I did for a while but I ended up putting a divider in the middle so it made separate chambers for each sub. Try it out this way see how you like it but something you might want to look into down the road.

Looks great tho! Also Kyle how much was yours purchased?
