Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Well the UPS man dropped off two rolls of project material. And well i have a couple of questions. For those of you that have installed dynamatt did you install it on the trunk lid, or did you just do the floors, the trunk, and the doors. I'm looking to quiet down the road noise and the exhaust sound a bit for the inside of the cabin. I have 100 Ft^2 to install in my car. My plan was to double layer the floor around the trunk and back seat, single layer the doors, and single layer the floor in the front. Well onto the pics:

how much did that run u.. im debating on if i should add it to me to do list once i get the car back
I just had the fat mat rattletrap installed(free), cost was 119 for 50 sq feet.. or it's 209 for 100 sq feet.. Ask Alan JR he just did his car and loves it.. that's why I bought it..
I have dynamat in my car from the firewall to the back seats and that was a noticeable difference. I didn't have the money at the time to do it all but would love too. With the dynamat installed it actually feels like there's something in-between me and the road, not just a piece of carpet and some metal, haha.
How much weight does that add? Seems like it could be an extra 40lbs or so.
40lbs is nothing!
When my interior comes out I'm matting my whole interior. It blocks out sound/heat and the stereo sounds so much better. I did it to my Sonoma with my system and it was night and day difference.

Hey guys, i bought 100 sq ft for 140 bucks shipped. I bought it off ebay and i would be glad to give you the seller name. He had it shipped to my door in 3 days. On the page where he is selling it he states the installed weight of 100 sq. ft. is 12 lbs. The whole shipping box weighed 31 lbs, but that was with a roller, a knife, the two cardboard tubes that the material is wraped around, and a paper backing. I'll be sure to take some install pictures.

I think your right, i just bought the Fat mat extreme kit. But i do remember seeing something that was a little pricier but i opted for this because i thought i would just double layer any areas that i thought would need it. I can't wait to get it installed, my last car i did this too sounded so much better once i got 50 sq. ft installed.

You're doing this to get rid of exhaust noise???? um ok lol I installed 50 sq/ft and noticed a huge difference. I started in the rear hatch and worked my way forward. I figured out about halfway through that it's easier to install if you cut it into small squares. I would worry more about the rear of the car and the doors....since the carpet already has some factory sound deadener under it. make sure you get all the little cubby holes in the rear hatch. it's alot of work but it sure does pay off....i noticed a huge difference with my car, and so did my dad. It applies much better when it's warm out..i did it in 80* weather and it formed really nice. I didn't even use the roller...just press it down firmly with your hands

WMCC_Alan Jr. - I'm doing it because at around 75-80 the exhaust tone is a constant quite loud humm in the interior that can get a little irritating. I like the sound of my exhaust it's just sometimes if i have to take a long trip down I-75 it gets to me. I'm also doing it to benefit the stereo system i have in it, with all the components and everything installed i want to try to get the best sound out of it i can.
