My backseat speakers

So I decided I really need to replace my cheap aftermarket speakers I put in for my backseats, stock was way better, but unfortunately I blew them out on one of my trips to Michigan from Florida. I was screwing around a couple days ago and thought I would experiment. Took one my 12's from the basement and hooked both right and left wiring to the one 12...I must say I was very impressed with the stock amp pushing that 12. Needless to say, now I just need to figure out where I want to put it in the car. That saves me a lot of money, and on top of that I can put the other speakers in my beater which only has 2 speakers working at the moment. Save's me some weight too not have to build a big box and the amp and other stuff that comes with putting a crazy system in your car.

What kind of amp was it that was pushing the 12? Was it the bose? I'd be surprised if you thought that sounded good, the Bose amps sound horrible unless you lucked out and had just the right speaker for it.

I have the monsoon system. Trust me it's not pushin the 12 to its full potential, I have an aftermarket amp that does that. I'm just not looking for that insane bass for my T/A. I figured since those back speakers are only for bass anyways, and the speakers I put in there aren't supporting any bass what so ever, I would just see how my 12 would sound while I was messing around back there. The 12 has the dual voice coils and trust me it sounds good enough, it was vibrating the whole car and the bass was only at maybe 40%. It's not going to win any competitions, but it works for me.

Just one sub, and I can make a nice little light weight fiberglass box for it. I'd probably have to do some cutting to fit 6x9's where the old speakers were. Even if I didn't I'd have to spend a couple hundred dollars on speakers when I have a perfectly good 12 sittin around that will sound much better.

I remember doing a readup on a guy on ls1tech that simply just bought two 6.75" midbass speakers and hooked them up. I put two sets of components in my car and I absolutely love it. The sound quality is amaizing out of components , now all i need to do is get my fat mat installed.
