The monsoon speakers aren't too bad, but like Angie said, buying aftermarket speakers and not using the monsoon amp sounds 10x better than the stock monsoon speakers with the monsoon amp.
Is your car currently base speakers, or monsoon system? If it's monsoon, you're in for some fun when you change the speakers... they have to be pretty specific to whether or not they'll work on the monsoon system. Angie's was a monsoon system and I entirely bypassed the amp because it made her infinity speakers sound horrible. Once the amp was bypassed the speakers sounded way better than the stockers.- Brian Meissen

No, but then again I usually don't use harnesses and just solder wires together. If I need to disconnect them, I'll cut and re-solder.
If anything, I would think you might have to cut the plug off of the stock speaker (leave like 2 inches of wiring) and then solder that plug to the new speaker's wiring.- Brian Meissen

Also the Monsoon has 6 visible speakers even though it says 8 compared to the 4 that you can see with the base sound system. So, if anything, I would buy some of those rear panels that go in the trunk from a Camaro that had the Monsoon system so that way you can screw with the ones in the back as well. What you will notice about the speakers in the back panels though is that they are very small and solely for bass if I'm not mistaken. I love my Monsoon system in my 2000 Camaro.
