i have a blown speaker and am going to go ahead this winter and replace all the speakers (4 speaker sytem) with some high quality ones. just wanting to know what speakers some of you went with and how they worked out

I used pioneers all around. They've worked out well so far. You want to get a system that can survive being loud all the time, especially in a 'vert. Good quality speakers are a must.

How loud are you going to play them? I have Alpine Type S's in my car, they sound very good, especially for the price.

I have Pioneers in my Camaro, and thought they sounded pretty nice.

Alpine makes a great speaker, MB Quart does as well.

I think the fronts are 5.25 and the rears are 4x6? I can't remember, it's one of the first things I did, when my roommate still owned the car.

Nakamichi still makes a good product? I know they made a hell of a component years ago, as my dad (when he still was in the car-stereo business) did a demo truck for Nakamichi and used The Wall as the demo album.

Boston Acoustic is another good one, very good in fact.

I've learned you need to talk the guy who deals with this stuff all the time. There's no advantage in taking advice from someones 2D view on this sort of application just because something else worked for them the first time.
                          Do your research.

good point but it is hard to find someone like that who is not trying to just sell you on price,

right now i am just looking for the size

ooo boy have fun i sure did, id have to look at my boxes to see the sizes of front and rear speakers but i did them all my self, the rear i had to use two pieces of 3/4'' mdf to space it out so my speakers would fit with out the vert bar hitting them the front fit in perfect tho, they are jl c5 i think id have to look. where in macomb r u from?
