  • Transforming hatch to a sub box

Has anyone figured out a good way to turn the "pit" in the hatch of a third gen into a good quality sounding box? If possible I would rather not go out and buy a box off crutchfied. Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about I have 2 12" JL I need to hook up this winter.

**Also need a good quality amp if anyone has one laying around**

Um.. Why not just get a 12" dual box from ebay?

I had a thirdgen before and got a box off ebay and bought one for my 94 before I got rid of it to install my stealth box.

They are good quality and not to bad of a price.

Build your own. Several years ago I built the box thats in the "Pit/Well" of my 3rd gen that holds 2 12" kicker Pro's and an Orion HCCA series amp.

Last winter i built a 4 cubic foot ported box tuned to about 35 Hz that fits right in the pit of the hatch. Just take some good measurements and it's a sinch. Oh and it sounds great but i just have to get the plastic trim pieces to stop rattling

Also if you know how to fix an amp i have a kicker 1200.1 that keeps cutting in and out. The power light is always on but i believe it keeps going in and out of protection.

What would you want for the amp? How old is it? Whats the watts when hooked up to two subs?

I don't really see the difference but I turned my gf's camaros T-top area into a large sub box. I'll dig up some pics later.

I think were talking about the same part. It's the hatch area that dips down a couple feet.

if you have fiberglassed at all you can do the whole hatch and have it fit nice and snug
