Haven't quite figured out where the HVAC is going, in all honesty. I've got three ideas, all might work.

3 Ideas? Lets hear um, the only 2 I can think of are the console and the glove box.

EDIT: Best idea yet, hide the whole assembly, rig all the knobs up to stepper motors and controllers, and tie it into the car pc, that B, would be bad ass.

Haha, true that -- that would be sweet. There's a few guys on mp3car.com that have done just that, I just don't know how they did it though nor do I have any idea how to start on that.

My three ideas are glove box, center console, and maybe something custom on the dash.

I say...umm...spare tire well! No? How about under the hood - ooh, even better IN the roof (outside).

No, you should definately integrate it into CarPC - but then you might have a new form of iDrive, which sucks. A lot.

The problem with tying the HVAC controls into a CarPC is that it would require different types of motors. The HVAC system is controlled by both cables, electrical, and vacuum knobs, IIRC. The guy over on MP3car.com decided to give away all of the parts he had for his setup, either he found a more effective way of doing it, or he just didn't want the headache anymore. I'll see if I can find the thread. I think the best place for it would be in the headliner, directly above the rear view mirror, but that would be a pain to do. . .

Go for the custom dash one ...make it even more unique then it already is.

just buy new tubing and remove them from point A to the point B (the hvac) controls. done that a few times myself.

my ride is getting a Double Din Alpine DVD Player/NAV her in about a month, ill just barely miss getting it done before m&g. so ill just take pictures too, except mine will go from before and after.

The tubing isnt the problem its the cables, which I belive is hot cold adjustment.

It really shouldnt require different motors, as long as they were somehow attached to the exsisting knobs and stashed away somewhere.

Kool someone else already did it, I might do some searching for it aswell.

the cables? its only 1 and i thought it was a rod connected to the blower box? i guess i could be wrong havent looked in a few years

Well, I finished moving it over the weekend. It wasn't that hard at all. The blower control rod is definitely a prick to move because it wants to hold its shape for where it was meant to go. Ah well, it's out of the way now. I had to extend the wiring too, which was no biggie.
