  • Monsoon, any reason to keep?

I have a guy that wants to buy my factory monsoon for $75, I could use the cash but at the same time there is a part of me saying I should keep it. Yet its been on a shelf for over 2.5 years. And I know damn well the odds of it ever going back in my Z are about 1 to 1,000,000. Basically, if my JVC quit and I was to broke to buy even a cheap unit, at which point I probably won't be able to afford to drive it then either so I wouldn't need a new one till I could. Anyway, do you guys see any reason to keep it?

I don't plan to ever get rid of it, but as long as I have it, it won't be stock cause then it won't be as fun to drive.

id still say keep it.. it will be worth alot more down the road, they will become extreamly hard to find.

and what would you do with 75 dollars anyway? buy some headlight covers pshh.

i got mine in a plastic bag in my basement.

I got a wedding in 3 weeks, and a baby on the way, I'll find a use for it.

No, I won't be buying headlight covers, lol.

You will probably never put the stock radio back in so don't worry about it. If you really wanna go back to stock (why would you anyways) then you can find them on ebay for cheap.

I don't see any reason to keep it, like I said, its been on a shelf for 2.5 years, Probably never gonna use it, might as well get something out of it.

I have had aftermarket stereos in all of my cars since I started driving, but I always keep the factory ones. . . My Buick had the new stereo in it for all of 2 days when I was rear-ended and the car was totaled. I ended up junking it, so the new stereo from that went into the Blazer, and I kept the stock one from that. After I bought the Camaro, I gave the Blazer to my Dad, but he insisted that I put the stock radio back in, and I am glad I had it, because then I would have the crappy stock stereo in it right now. It's all in what you intend to do, though. I would sell it on EBay, though. You can make a lot more cash off of it then. . . .

Actually I've been watching ebay, they don't go for much over $75. I don't intend to ever get rid of the car, if and when that changes, I'll throw something in there, don't matter what. I think its gone, I can use the $75, an old radio on the shelf doesn't do me any good.

Stereo is like the least important thing for a "stock" car. Majority of the time when someone buys a car they put a diff sound system in. Barely any of the 2nd gens have stock stereos in them, and it doesn't effect the price.

thats only because they arnt so old to be considered mint condition without it..lol you know how much a re make of like a 57 vette stereo goes for... i mean it may not seem like much now but when we are all driving around in hover cars and he still has this old orange camaro in his garage people will be amazed by that old technology still being intact...lol
