steering wheel controls

i bought a wiring harness for my new pioneer deck that is supposed to allow me to use my steering wheel controls with my new deck. anyone ever install one of these before? its a pac swi-ps controller. i usually dont have problems with electronics but i cant figure this thing out. they arent cheap and id like to use it. if anyone has any ideas, help me out please. thanks

id search ls1tech, I was going to buy a deck back in the day and realized I would need that too and did a lil research but got confused, cant find the link off hand though.

Does it have the IR sender? From what I know of the steering wheel control adapters it plugs into the wiring from the steering wheel then you have to drill a hole and mount the IR sender where it will point at the head unit.

Off topic, but I'm going to try wiring up my volume control to my cut out.

those PAC units are a ***** to program, i could do it easily but explaining it is another

hell, id settle with just steering wheel controls on the stock deck.

i got it all hooked up, maybe i just didnt program it correctly. i will mess with it again later i guess. ill do some more research. thanks guys. any more input would greatly be appreciated.

I did it to my T/A But I didnt use a wiring harness. I got a system the hooks up to the controls then u place the transmitter where u think itll be outta the way and it works like a remote would. Works very nice ive had no problems except when I turn the wheel and hit the scan or volume button. I can get u the web site if u want. wasnt to hard to install.

I bought my product from www.logjamelectronics.com its the pac swi-x universal steering wheel control interface. It cam with instructions which i dont have or else id give it to ya to try to help but u should be able to find instructions on there somewhere.
