Well, my newest project is well under way out here in new york, geting ready for some competitions this summer. I got a new double din 7" touchscreen JVC deck, alphasonik components for the rear and doors with tweeters and a 6500 watt US Amps amplifier with a 15" RE XXX 10,000 watt subwoofer. It is going to be in a custom fiberglass box, a custom amp rack, and new battery tray for the rear. It will all be painted to match the car and the roll cage, got lots of dynamat in the car and plenty of pics of the mods. The best part (besides the price) is that i am doing all the work with my buddy thats owns the stereo shop out here. I have a couple weeks to go before she is all said and done but she is coming along great. She will be crazy loud and i dont think too many people with F-bodies will have the same set-up as me. Here are some pics of the install so far.... These are all shots from the progress so far with a-lot of test fitting equipment. It is going to be the Audio Extreme show car this summer in upstate NY. Looking good. Fiberglass is heavier then wood correct? I'm not sure how I want to do my system was thinking of a fiberglassed box. But I don't want a box that's gonna add a couple hundred pounds it self.

my box with the wood and glass weighs about 18 pounds only, i used MDO wood instead of MDF. it has laminent in it and is twice as strong and about 2/3rds the weight of MDF. it is 70 bucks a sheet though for a 4x8. my subwoofer weighs a good 55 pounds though.i laid fleece, a coat of resin, some fiberglass strips then two more coats of resin. it is going to be really strong. i took out the carpet spare tire and jack, i am not too worried about weight though. i have enough power to the wheels for that... lol Jeremy

door speakers

the speakers are a set of alphasoniks, they are crystal clear and not too expensive, around 550 installed. they have the midrange woofer, door speaker and tweeter off the same crossover. I highly recommend them... Later bud

hey man nice pic in subwoofer, i wouldn't run 10k to that sub though, maybe for burps but for daily i heard 2500 is very nice.... those subs are amaizing ported but box looks a little small what cube and frequency are you tunning too I hear 35 hz @ 4 cubes is amaizing, i like low notes though. Either way it's gonna sound amaizing, I'm running the RE SX 15 with about 1500 watts and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Hits low notes like they are nothing and keeps up with rock music. Good luck with your install let us know how it goes.Last edited by cobalt camaro; February 20th, 2008, 08:44 PM.sigpic
