  • My System --- Cavalier --- IASCA SQ

    I figured Id throw up some pictures and info on my Cavalier. I have a '94 Cavalier Z24. It has a complete built SQ stereo system. It has competed all over the U.S. in Competitions held by IASCA. It has been to World Finals twice. 1 Time winning 3rd, the other time winning 2nd. It is very loud, and sounds great. It was built by my father, but I have learned so much through it. Im going to be building my own SQ system in my Firebird Formula this Spring, with some help of my father. As far as my Cavalier goes here it is;

            Nice setup.

            I used to be into stereos pretty deep 20 years ago...sadly, I have not kept up with the technology.

            My first car stereo included a couple of Pioneer home speakers wedged in the trunk of my 78 Trans Am...

                Thanks guys!! Apreciate the compliments. This Spring after I get things situated with the Trans Am and have her set, then I can get back to the Cavalier project and have her up and good maybe when all of us get together Ill drive her and show it off. Im hoping to have a 3400 with a T4 turbo in her or a 3800 S/C in her by next Fall.

                  Wow...I remember when Lanzar was some of the best stuff. Then Pyle bought them. There used to be a kid with a 90 or so Chevy full size with a topper on and he had like 10 12" subs in it. It was loud as hell. I don't even know how many watts he had. The idiot managed to sue his work for hearing damage and got a ton of money. Too bad it was from his loud ass system! I had a pair of cheapo Lanzar 10's but wasn't overly impressed with them. I barely used them then ended up taking them to Goodwill since I couldn't sell them at our garage sale and was sick of them sitting around. I can't believe you rated that high since the speakers surrounds aren't blended into the doors. I know asthetics was one of the categories they judged on. I used to be big into audio stuff but never had the money to do anything real elaborate. I need to figure out what I'm doing with my V6 and SS systems. Of course that requires money.
