I prefer Pioneer, but I have never really used any 6x9's in my cars. My dad put a nice pair of 6x9 Pioneer 3-way speakers in his rear package tray in the 99 Monte my sister has now, and they put out some seriously awesome sound quality. They cost him like $150 for the pair, but IMO, money well spent.

6x9s have been the only pioneer product i wasnt satisfied with. I would probably go with rockfords.

pioneer are kinda iffy lately i use to love them, i still like there head units alot cant beat them for the price... but the speakers the 3 ways and 4 ways seem to be good but the plain 6x9 is crap now... i acctually have been using bose and a few other high end speakers cause ive been getting them cheep right now i have 6x9 500 watt boss new brand they sell at auto zone i noticed cheep like 90 bucks for the pair but i did put close to 250 wat to each of these 6x9's and they handled it like a trooper they also have 425 watt 5 1/2 rounds that handled the 250 watt fine aswell.. thats my setup in the grand prix... in the trans am its whatcame with it KLH not bad handles the 500 watt going through the entire setup... good sound quality... but i have a new set of bose speakers for the trans am i still have to put in compliments of my work...

Sorry! I don't have any experience with the Pioneer 6x9's, but I have a Pioneer 250w 8" "Bass Cannon" that hits harder than the pair of 10" MTX's in a box in the back. Everyone has their own opinion, though. I guess I'll try to stay away from the Pioneer 6x9s from now on.

I do have a Rockford Fosgate 900w amp in my car, and I love it! It is so powerful, it makes me think that Rockford under-rates their amplifiers!

really it all drops down to specific model of specific brand... if anyone says one campany makes the best of everything they are full of shit... depending on what kind of 6x9's you want will depend what brand... so single 2 way 3 way 4 way even now... what kinda power are you looking to handle.. or really how big of a magnet will fit in that stock location? lol when it takes more than one hand to hold up your 6x9 because of the size of the magnet on the back... then you should have a pretty decent speaker...lol but what kind of power are you looking to push through to them? and what kind of money are you thinking of spending?

well. i've always had Pioneer speakers. first in my S10. now in My SS... i think for the price, they sound great. really anything you put in will sound better than old dried out paper cone factory speakers. my friend put all pioneer in his Z28 it sounds great too. but pretty much any brand is good in my opinion! you get what you pay for usually too

I love my stereo system as it is, but I need to get some of the speakers out of my Blazer. I just installed Pioneers in there about 6 months ago, and now they are not even used, as the amp has been removed. I think I'll swap them for the stock ones in the Camaro.
