I checked with Extreme Car Audio in GR on 28th street for one for my V6. For an FM frequency Compustar remote installed was $265 with a lifetime warranty. I priced out the parts on Ebay and it was $90 for the remote and $45 for the bypass module. I figured it would be worth the extra $100 to have them install it right and have a warranty on it. Too bad the wife thought that was too much so I didn't get it....yet.

To bad you don't live closer to my work. I'd hook you up Mike. I've hooked a few friends up with 15% above cost on parts and if I do it in my driveway labor is free (besides a 24pk of bud lights....)

Anytime hoss! I paid less for a 1mile range alarm/remote starter with LCD key fob then most do to get a bottom of the line remote starter.

Well duh! He's only 20. How's Sean going to get beer? You aren't suggesting he might be doing some underage drinking are you Wade?

Any remote start will work with a stick. Companies wont put them on vehicles with sticks because people are morons and leave the cars in gear, hit the starter, and the car takes off.

If they do I haven't installed one. I just wire it up so it thinks the clutch is always pressed down.

They do have starters with special sensors for sticks. I was reading up on the Compustar and Viper remote starts. There's also some that you have to do a special shut down procedure with a stick so that it knows it's in neutral when you go to start it the next time.

hey tom, big rapids is not to far for me. if you are interested in doing it ill come up that way. yeah 265 is a bit pricey for me as well at the moment. i still need to get a new transmitter for the one on my bird. ive had that car for a little while now and still havent been able to use the alarm or remote start.

It's my work back home in Flint. If it was in Big Rapids I'd just have you drive up.
