How do you feel about this sub?
Kicker's Solo-Baric L7 06S12L74 12"

I've never heard the square subs to know how they sound if they sound any different... Not for sure on the amp ill run all i know is its an Audioban. Don't know the details on it.

but some one has 2 of those subs in a ported box fully carpeted to trade for my 4th gen wheels. Not sure if its a good trade or not.

Audiobahn subs aren't very good sounding. Not sure about the amps. I'd like to get some Kicker subs my self or another set of Alpine Type-R's.

those subs might hit hard but as far as i know the sound quality is rather poor.

But on a serious note, i havnt had subs for a while (since HS) used to have 2 12" JL W6's... but they arent nearly as good as todays subs. Either way, i love JL audios products.

Unfortunately, i cant justify the cost and weight penaltys of a huge system.. i'd rather go faster.

Having a 150db system is fun.. but running 10's is more fun!

Alpine Type-R here...and it pounds. As far as subs go, I dont think I will every get anything besides Alpine. Pioneer Decks rock too.

Lol this is were i fall in the world...

The l7s were offered as a trade for my wheels so thats why i was planning on those but im not thinking the trade will work. I at first thought the email came from a guy on here but it was a guy on thirdgen.org and he lives in NC. Soo. Shipping will be a pain.

As for audioban amps... I know some are good. At least one model. I cant for the life of me remember the model of it but its what my fried has in his car and it seems to power his subs awfully well.

But for now ill be looking for a different sub...A closer one.

And as far as jimmy johns goes it took me for ever to understand you... I was like what the hell?... then once the subway part came in i totally got it./.. Now i feel like a sped.

I personally only run JL AUDIO cause in my eyes there great all around subs and speakers and amp. Dont like audiobahn i have heard of many fires with there amps. (NOT GOOD) kicker subs are alright but sound quility kinda sucks compared to JL AUDIO.... Kickers are loud.. though, but they wont last long light that have way to much distorchen...

Alpines are up with JL imo. At least the Alpine Type R's compared to the WS6's

kicker solo baric L7's are some of the hardest hitting subs out there. the square cone moves more air, and they have some STRONG molded cones. these things could break your fingers if you touch them at decent volume, hahaha. they definitely itch the ear drums, and thats more than loud enough.

value - 7/10 (expensive normally)
volume - 9/10 (LOUD)
sound quality - 7/10 (can get muffled at unbelievably low frequencies)
frequency response - 8.5/10 (the dual voice coils respond to a broad range of frequencies)
excursion - 9/10 (these baffles and voice coils can STREETTTCH)

audiobahn stuff is middle of the road. depending on the wattage, and assuming its a class D mono block, itll be perfect.

I completely agree.

JL is awesome. I'd rather have sound quality over sound quantity. Give me 130 db of superclean sound over 160db of distorted crap..
