after working at best buy and with my dads mobile audio/video business, i have found that ALL car audio is over 50% profit margin if youre paying MSRP, so getting it 50% off isn't all that impressive.

however, kicker is an excellent choice. i have the old version of that headunit but without bluetooth. however, mine does have a full color OLED screen...not sure why they got rid of that.

no im getting the stuff at cost. the upgrade head unit just came out of mine thats color and with the blue tooth but im not looking to pay 480$ to have a color screen compared to mine for 60$ thats only blue. i dont know what steve from clarity audio is talking about, talking down on kicker. i was originally going to go with all diamond products but after looking at the prices and even if i was to get them at cost it would be twice as much as my kicker set up, so the choices we make are controlled by the money we have (or dont have)

cost on car audio = about 55% of MSRP. i got my headunit at cost+5% while working at best buy, and it had an MSRP of $419 and i got it for about $200.

and kicker = very, very good. priced high but worth it. not sure what mr. clarity has heard, but it always seems to be the opposite of my experiences.

i had a pair of solobaric L7's in high school. they were the ultimate.

            Kicker stuff

Yes i also think that kicker is a great choice and there very customer friendly when it comes to service. It is a great line of products without spending mad money on subs and amps. But when you get a system you have 1 very big choice of going loud or going sound quality, like kicker loud and diamond or mb quart sound quality. The kicker KS components that i installed in his car scream and dont distort at all at high levels. With the addition of a 10 inch L7 i think that its is going to sound amazing.

Kicker is not a manufacturer per se (I was a rep selling to dealers, and am a dealer now) they are not bad, but they are not even close to the best, the company making some parts for them had a huge quality issue (tweeters being sent with the diaprams not attached, and subs with no voice coils were getting common) they changed suppliers, and seem to have it fixed. Realize there are only a few companies that actually build speakers (I bet the only one anyone here knows is rockford fosgate) I have had tours of their warehouses, and have been in the factories that build the stuff (weird seeing a kicker sub with a jl, and kenwood in front of it on the assembly line) I always believed that there is better stuff at equal price to kicker, but they have a better advertising.
