I blew out my monsoon door speaker in my camaro and Ive been looking for a new receiver and speakers. Ive decided what receiver i want the Pioneer DEH-P6900UB and for speakers either Infinity Reference 6022si or Polk db651s.
Ive read that i have to bypass the amp if im going to install aftermarket speakers so will the stock amp/Mid/Rear still work with a aftermarket receiver?

Yes, I have the JVC I bought hooked up in my V6 to the rest of the stock Monsoon system. It actually sounds pretty good. WAY better than my stock Monsoon setup in the SS. I can't believe to identical systems can sound so totally different. With the stock head unit in the V6 it still sounded better than my SS.

the infinities don't have as good a sound once installed, in a soundroom I can make jensens sound decent. I have also noticed the infinities don't hold up as well (the ones that were in the gp the cones split in about 8 places from the center to the surround)
