  • Looking for a good detailer..

I have some stains on my seats that I cant get out using a can of upholstry cleaner. It seems it would be water stains but since I have owned the car it hasnt leaked. It kind of looks like coffee stains... Does anyone know of any good detailers in SW Mich... or have any ideas?

    thanks.

Try soaking the stain with water, then scrubbing the crap out if it, then sucking it out with a shop vac, if that doesnt touch it, get a rag wet with paint thinner (just enough to wet the rag for about a silver dollar sized spot, but pretty wet) and scrub over the spot and see if it makes a difference

        thanks for the reference mike

Coffee stains are probably the worst part about detailing. they almost never come out. i could try it with my portable steam cleaner, but really its likely not even worth trying. There is a cheat way to do it though. buy some spray paint that matches (if you think detail shops dont do that, surprise surprise)

take a spray bottle, fill it with some hot water, and then mix in a little bit of laundry detergent, kinda like your own "steam cleaner" spray the stain down, scrub it some, and then take compressed air with an air nozzle fitting and blow the stain dry, that generally works for me.

oh and Joel.....what's up with the spray paint? i've never done that???
