i use poorboys super swirl removers or SSR line, the higher number is the more abrasive. you can use them by hand but they work alot better with machine application, as does any product. you should look into a porter cable 7424 buffer

Yup. that is correct. Meguiars makes a step 1 paint cleaner anda step 2 polish.

I usually wash my car, claybar it, do step 1, do step 2 a couple times, then put on two coats of wax, usually lasts the whole year if i use booster wax.

for polish use wizards shine master polish& sealant, little expensive but really good $16 for the bottle. can only get it at a paint supply store, cant get it at the rice store "advance auto"
or just go cheep and get the crappy mothers or Maguire's stuff

and yes you can polish over wax. the polish will cut right through it and remove it.

what wax did you use? just curious.

please excuse my spelling... i went to a cathlic school.

You have that backwards, right? Wax is what should be done every few weeks, polish cuts through the wax and removes miniscule amounts of paint (like .0000001 mm of paint). Although it's not as effective if it's done by hand, you'd want to do the polish less than the wax. But, it also depends what you use. Turtle Wax markets their Liquid Ice as a polish but there ain't no way shape or form that it's truely polish.
