Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

just make sure you get it really clean i took a wire brush to mine and wet sanded them down a bit, you should have no problems, as for paint i used a base coat, color, and clear and i just used high heat engine paint
I used Duplicolor caliper paint kit on my car in silver. We'll see how it holds up. It was pretty watery and runny when I put it on. I cleaned them thoroughly with the provided brake cleaner and a wire brush and tooth brush to get all the crud off them. I then brushed it on.

I bought brush on paint because using spray paint in that area was just asking for a mess! If you mask everything really well you can use spray paint and leave it on. I totally blew my front apart to paint it!

yea so no stores around here carry the kit with silver..so I just bought the spray paint and when it gets nicer..just taking off the caliper and going to paint it like that...
I used rustoleum farm tractor red (brush) and its been invincible. perfect shade too. and like the others said just make sure theyre clean and youll be fine.
Buy some non-clorinated brake and parts cleaner. That's what the kits come with. I ended up buying more because I used up what I had doing just the fronts.

when i did mine i just used a air tool to blow off any brake dust then i used a damp rag with some degreaser and wiped them clean then i bought high temp primer from DUPLI COLOR and and then i did mine in RADIENT FIRE RED. they turned out sweet. My car has benn sitting in the garage all winter and there still clean don't need to be repainted at all.
The brake cleaner will take care of the easy stuff but you'll need a wire brush/stiff nylon brush to get the really nasty crud loose then respray with cleaner and wipe down with a rag. You should be good to paint after that.
